When I don’t know what is happening and my life doesn’t make sense,
He is near.
When I’ve lost all hope that I will ever find what I am looking for,
He is near.
When I am blinded by the tears that won’t stop flowing,
And weighed down by heartbreak and despair,
When it hurts to breathe and I cannot sing,
He is near.
We may feel lost, but we are found in His grace.
We may be broken, but He shines through our cracks.
We may be empty, but He fills us with Living Water, and we are poured out.
This life is not about me. My flesh rages and screams and cries for attention, to be indulged and satisfied in its lustful appetites, but His spirit whispers
Follow me.
I won’t go back to where I’ve been. The way is only forward, the time is only now. We kick and scream and scratch and cry, but He calls us to be still and know that He is God. He stills us with His love. Our rest is found only in Him. He is near.
